Goodbye to Bettie Sleeth

Kiwanis Club of Greater Cherokee President Bettie Sleeth received a Leadership Award.

Bettie Sleeth passed away earlier today. She was a long-serving member of the Home Builders Association of Georgia regulatory affairs staff so we attended many of the same meetings. It’s been a comfort to see her and visit with her at countless events over the years.

She was always kind, always candid and we usually shared a few complaints about Atlanta’s traffic and the perils of driving to meetings since we came from the same side of town. She was a fixture in our industry and helped steer its development over many years. Her absence will be conspicuous.

Since we lived in the same area, she would join me for lunch to compare notes and visit. Given her level of activity, even into her seventies, I felt very fortunate to be gifted some of her time. I will miss her sense of humor and her smile.
